Horse Training

Our Training Process

We believe in The Old Spanish Vaquero’s values on how a good working horse should move. This translates well to all western disciplines and competitions. For the trail horse, it’s as simple as turning in tight quarters and smoothly getting a gate, walking over obstacles, and working stress-free. For the performance horse, it is essential to be soft and efficient in movements. Neck and pole, shoulders, rib cage, and hindquarters all need to move efficiently and on cue to rope, turn a barrel, stop a steer, cut a cow, and run a reining pattern. Our training program always works within the bounds of safety, is dependent on the horse’s ability and rider’s desires, and is based on drills that promote smooth and efficient movements from all body parts.

We are available to show your horse in Versatility Ranch Horse shows and a variety of events at AQHA shows.
